The person(s) selected will live and work in isolated backcountry areas in close contact with small numbers of people for extended periods of time up to 6 months. Work is performed out-of-doors on projects in mountainous terrain to 13,000 feet elevation in all extremes of weather. Trail work is dusty and potentially hazardous conditions may exist when moving rock, working in and around rock slide areas, working around stock, explosives, machinery, and when falling and bucking trees.
Employees assigned to backcountry work will be required to live at a rustic camp. The camp will be their duty station at remote wilderness locations.
