Electronic Civil Disobedience... join this Virtual Sit-in and help to crash websites of shitty organizations. FROM TODAY NOV 20 TO THE 23rd, PARTICIPATE...
"This call for a virtual sit-in represents a two-pronged attempt to gerrymander solidarity against the actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency of the Department of Homeland Security established to allegedly guard national security by targeting "criminals" and "terrorists," and the actions of right-wing organizations which devalue and terrorize families in their attempts to define the category of Family in the narrowest terms imaginable. Constructions of immigrant and queer families as violable are rooted in long histories of aggression against humanity; which have and continue to establish hierarchies of personhood."

virtual sit-in?
this is the most blatant representation of non-progressive, self-glorifying activism that i have ever seen.
one step forward two steps back.
hah...
still, if it can jam a fucked up site and i don't really have to do anything maybe it's good.
at the same time it's like encouraging us to be lazy as fuck...participating in social issues by not really participating at all. my internet identity is fighting for equality, my earthly identity is playing pong
the same system crashed etoy.com. look into "the toywar" virtual activism at its best. this sort of practice will grow, and we will make full use, while doing our part to expand the language of electronic gestures.
i think if the people doing the sit in took the time to learn how to hack into these sites, they could really put a thorn in their side. i assume that takes much more dedication.
look up the toy war. read the history or etoy vs. etoys.
you'll like it. not everyone needs to hack. just like when you go to a protest/sit in. not everyone really needs to do anything. they just show up in support.
now i see
