great store

i kept telling him how great his store was and it made him very uncomfortable. he'd spent his life hiding behind guitars. he can kinda play, but really he can only sell. very much like a pimp... capable but unwilling to really let his livelihood become his passion.

i'd test out many of his ladies but we both knew i hadn't the slightest intention of buying. instead i'd keep smiling and telling him how great his store was in a genuine way. before i left i picked up an old banjo and asked him how much.

"maybe if you came in here with $250 cash i could let you take it."
"all right let's do it. here's the cash."

he couldn't believe it was happening as he filled out the cash receipt.

"i'm so happy you decided to open up this store here."

he didn't respond this time. he just stood there with the cash in his hand and a bewildered look on his face.
